Trench Epistles
A downloadable Experience
One happy hour to be
With you alone, friend of my own,
That would be heaven to me.
Armistice Day Letter, Anthony French - 1918
Trench epistles is a letter-writing game for 2 players set during the First World War. Gameplay involves sending letters and playing cards back and forth.
Each player consults their own booklet containing instructions for each letter.
Players will have to contend with limited resources and censorship as they bring their companion up to date with news from home or the front. Decisions made by the players affect each other.
You will need:
- Paper and envelopes in order to complete and send your letters
- A D6
- A D100
- (Online generators are fine if you don't have accessible physical dice)
- A pack of playing cards
- Optional: Ephemera, tea bags, distressing ink, art supplies to add to the authenticity of your letters.
This game was created for the Duality TTRPG Jam #4 hosted by Lux Maxima.

A great game! Just launched a game with a friend (we have exchanged one letter for now). The prompts really help to spark the imagination.
